Researcher, Department of Transdisciplinary Medicine Seoul National University Hospital
Hi, I’m Seoyoung Oh. I’m deeply interested in medical AI, and I want to use data and AI to solve real, practical problems in healthcare. Among the many areas of AI and data science, I find medicine the most meaningful and impactful, precisely because it’s so directly tied to human life and quality of life. That’s why I aim to root my work deeply in the single domain of medicine, rather than working broadly across many application areas.
In particular, I believe that predictive performance alone isn’t enough for AI to reach real clinical practice. What matters just as much is how far we can trust a model’s predictions, and how well we can explain the reasoning behind them. With this in mind, my research focuses on building medical AI that is both trustworthy and explainable. Beyond that, I hope to keep growing in this field through research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world application.
